Eat in Oakland: The Lede

Carbonated Margarita made with blanco tequila, lime, agave, and chili salt. Boatfriend made with gin, salted celery, lemon, and dry vermouth

I visited The Lede, a local cocktail bar on 41st and Broadway in Temescal, for the first time with a few friends in early August. I've seen this space turn over a couple times in the past few years and the latest iteration might be the best yet.

We made it just in time for happy hour, snagging a spot on their parklet out front. I ordered the Carbonated Margarita made with blanco tequila, lime, agave, and chili salt, while my dining companion had the Boatfriend made with gin, salted celery, lemon, and dry vermouth. Their drinks were quite good; they had dynamic flavors and were clearly made with fresh ingredients.

Along with their impressive cocktail menu, they have a tantalizing selection of plates and snacks I will need to explore in the future. If you've been to The Lede, what would you recommend?
