Eat in Berkeley: Cracked

Smoked Ham Egg Sandwich with sharp cheddar, grilled onions, maple butter, fried egg, and a butter grilled pandesal roll

A few weeks ago I tried Cracked, a Filipino breakfast sandwich spot located inside Spats in Downtown Berkeley. Although this was my first time trying a Filipino breakfast sandwich, it will definitely not be my last.

Stumped by the menu (everything looks really, really good), I ordered the Smoked Ham Egg Sandwich made with sharp cheddar, grilled onions, maple butter, a soft fried egg, and a butter grilled pandesal roll. It was eggcellent (...had to). The bread was soft and fresh, enveloping the fried egg, cheese, and ham perfectly within. Everything was made fresh to order and was overall very flavorful. I would definitely order this (or maybe one with bacon or spam) the next time I stop by.

They also have an incredibly kind staff, who created a pretty welcoming atmosphere considering that Spats is a bar / nighttime venue. If you've visited Cracked, what do you recommend trying?
