Mangonada
I've been craving a Mangonada since first trying the spicy dessert at Nieves Cinco de Mayo in Fruitvale in August 2017. Luckily I got my hands on one this past weekend at the Italian Ice food cart at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and it was as good as I remembered. This one had a base of mango Italian ice and was then topped off with chunks of mango, peppery sauce, and a straw covered in tamarind candy. It was a refreshing balance of sweet and spicy.
