The Gobbler made with roasted turkey breast, bacon, pickled onion, havarti, roma tomato, arugula, and ciabatta
Porchetta made with chicharrones, arugula, chimichurri, and ciabatta
In mid August, my dining companion and I visited b. on the go — a casual restaurant across the way from its sister bakery b. patisserie on California and Divisadero in Lower Pacific Heights — for a lunch to break up the workday. This place has a variety of sandwiches, salads, and cookies on offer.
We shared a couple of sandwiches: The Gobbler and Porchetta. The Gobbler was made with roasted turkey breast, bacon, pickled onion, havarti, roma tomato, arugula, and ciabatta, while the Porchetta had Porchetta made with chicharrones, arugula, chimichurri, and ciabatta. Both were served warm and since we sat at the counter, we could see the care in which they were made. Although I'm not usually a fan of ciabatta, theirs was soft and chewy and provided a great base for the high-quality ingredients within. Both of these sandwiches had dynamic flavors and were the perfect size for lunch.
I would definitely visit b. on the go in the future if I'm in the area, perhaps trying one of their breakfast sandwiches.
