Masala Chickpea Curry Bowl: roasted butternut squash, turmeric cauliflower, braised cabbage, masala-spiced chickpea curry, brown rice, and cilantro
Kimchi Beef Bowl: kimchi couscous, roasted ginger yams, roasted baby tomatoes, roasted garlic broccoli, and marinated bulgogi "beef"
I visited Veggie Grill, a plant-based restaurant chain with a location at The Original Farmers Market on Fairfax and 3rd, for the first time in mid-April.
Following my mom's recommendation, I tried the Masala Chickpea Curry Bowl, while she ordered the Kimchi Beef Bowl. Both were really good. The Masala Chickpea Curry Bowl came with roasted butternut squash, turmeric cauliflower, braised cabbage, masala-spiced chickpea curry, brown rice, and cilantro. It was clear that all the ingredients were fresh and they've created an incredible flavor profile, an essential for vegetarian cooking. As a big fan of vegetables and rice, I appreciated their generous portions. The Kimchi Beef Bowl was made with kimchi couscous, roasted ginger yams, baby tomatoes, garlic broccoli, and marinated bulgogi "beef." Although I cannot figure out what the imitation beef was made of, they've mastered its flavor and texture, so I definitely asked for more from my mom's plate.
I'm honestly surprised I haven't visited Veggie Grill before, so I must stop by the next time I'm in the area. If you've visited Veggie Grill recently, what do you recommend trying?
