Tortilla de Patata: potato and onion omelet
Esparragos a la Plancha: grilled asparagus
Albondigas: meatball stew with saffron
Chorizo Salteado "Cantimpalitos": sautéed Spanish paprika sausage
Gambas al Ajillo: garlic shrimp
Since outdoor dining has reopened, my friend Allie and I took advantage by visiting Picaro, a Spanish restaurant known for their tapas and paella on 16th at Valencia in the Mission. Although the last time I came by was years ago, I definitely remembering enjoying their selection of classic tapas dishes.
We ordered a few things: the Tortilla de Patata (a potato and onion omelet), grilled asparagus, Albondigas (a meatball stew made with carrots, peas, and saffron), Chorizo Salteado "Cantimpalitos" (sautéed Spanish paprika sausage), and garlic shrimp. Every dish was well-prepared and satisfied our tapas cravings. We ordered just the right amount of food for two people, which we enjoyed sitting in their divided parklet.
Next time I might stop by to try one of their paellas. If you've visited Picaro, what do you recommend trying?
