Lemon Pepper Salmon with Coconut Rice
I first heard about Burma Bear from Amanda, an old co-worker of mine and the powerhouse behind Disqus' Talk Shop fashion and beauty channel. She used to help out at Burma Bear when it was a pop-up and a mainstay at various food festivals across the Bay Area. This Burmese barbecue place recently opened a permanent location inside the Second Act marketplace on Haight between Cole and Shrader.
When I visited this past weekend, I ordered the Lemon Pepper Salmon with coconut rice. The salmon was fresh, moist, and perfectly seasoned. When combined with the delicious rice and pickled vegetables, the dish was simply a piece of heaven. At about ten bucks a pop, it was also quite a deal.
The next time I stop by I'll have to give their famous Baby Back Ribs or the Kale Tea Leaf Salad a try.
