Saturn Cafe is my favorite place to get brunch in Berkeley. The mere mention of the restaurant will elicit an emotional response or even a squeal of excitement in me. The space-age vegetarian and vegan diner is located on the corner of Allston and Oxford in the city's downtown. Although I haven't ventured beyond the breakfast and brunch pages of the menu, I've enjoyed pretty much every meal I've tried. Among my favorite dishes are the veggie omelette and the banana walnut pancakes. The veggie omelette is made with every vegetable you'd want surrounded by a bunch of eggs and served with a side of home fries and toast.

Saturn's name is not used in vain; the futuristic style of the 1950's is carried throughout their large space. Each table at the booths are essentially display cases featuring a little world you can view from above, such as a trail of ants attempting to spoil a toy picnic. Fortunately for the night owls and the impatient, Saturn is open until midnight and rarely ever has a wait exceeding five minutes, if at that.
