Eat in Los Angeles: Fōnuts

Red Velvet with sprinkles and Hawaiian with coconut and cream filling

When planning my trip down to Los Angeles in October, I made sure to add Fōnuts to the top of my to-do list. With a grand total of four donuts eaten on two separate occasions, I can say with confidence that this gourmet faux-donut shop, located in the city's Westside on 3rd and Crescent Heights, is definitely worth the trip. What makes Fōnuts note-worthy is that their donuts are either baked or steamed. The donuts range from being delicate treats, like the gluten-free chocolate with sprinkles, to being filling desserts, like the maple bacon and Hawaiian. If you're planning to be a productive member of society post-consumption, it may be best to split one of the more fully-leaded versions with a friend. They also started serving ice cream in June, which can only make your next visit that much more necessary.
