Eat in Berkeley: Vampire Penguin

Tuxedo: chocolate snow with sliced almonds, marshmallows, strawberries, chocolate syrup, and condensed milk

Vampire Penguin serves a variety of shaved snow desserts at their Berkeley location on Telegraph between Blake and Parker. I stopped by for the first time this weekend.

We ordered the Tuxedo: chocolate snow with sliced almonds, marshmallows, strawberries, chocolate syrup, and condensed milk. I've never had shaved ice, or "snow," like this before. It's lighter than ice cream and not as filling. It's also not overwhelmingly sweet. We split a small, while the other customers split large servings.

The next time I visit I want to try the VP Green Team, which is made with Green Tea shaved snow, strawberries, sliced almonds, red beans, and condensed milk.

If you've visited Vampire Penguin, what did you try?
