Eat in Oakland: Michel Bistro

Some of the main courses: chicken pâté, lentils, little gem salad, mussels, French fries, and asparagus

Ham and Cheese Crepe, made right before my eyes!

Some of the appetizers: bread, olives, chips, popcorn

Lumière made with tequila, St. Germain, green chartreuse, lime, and Regan's orange bitters

A couple weeks ago, I was invited to attend the farewell dinner for Michel Bistro, a French restaurant on Lakeshore at Trestle Glen, a hop away from Lake Merritt, as a media guest. I enjoyed an evening of delicious appetizers, crepes (they had a crepe station!), a rotating prix fixe meal of main courses, and of course, yummy cocktails. Soon, Michel will reopen as Bardo Lounge and Supper Club, "neighborhood lounge and dining room inspired by the comfort and camaraderie of a mid-century dinner party," according to their website. They'll be open late with food service, which seems unprecedented on this coast. I'm looking forward to seeing what great food and drinks Michel's own Chefs Anthony and Brian will have to offer at Bardo. À bientôt!

Thanks so much to Clare from Provocateur Media for inviting me!
