Eat in Los Angeles: Gjusta

Baklava Croissant

Cappuccino

I finally visited Gjusta, an über hip(ster) bakery, cafe, and brunch spot located on Sunset Avenue in Venice. I tried the Baklava Croissant with a cappuccino. The croissant was made with the delicious pistachio, walnut, and honey filling the Middle Eastern dessert is known for. It was complemented well by the perfectly prepared cappuccino.

Apart from the food, I really enjoyed Gjusta's atmosphere: while it was busy with a long line inside, there was a lot of great outdoor seating on mismatching benches and tables. It's also quite a scene, making it ideal for people-watching. Besides the tourists and locals, I even spotted one Max Joseph from Catfish: The TV Show. An LA cafe with a celebrity sighting? I'll take a number.

If you've visited Gjusta, what do you recommend trying?
