Oatmeal Walnut Chocolate Chip ("Walnut Woody") and Pecan Chip cookies
Hot Cookie is a San Francisco institution, known for selling a variety of cookies and other desserts with names that make some blush. I've visited their Castro and Polk locations a few times over the years, with my most recent trip to the former spot on Castro and 17th.
On this visit in late May, I ordered the Oatmeal Walnut Chocolate Chip (also known as "Walnut Woody") and Pecan Chip cookies. I always love cookies with nuts and chocolate, so these two were perfect for me. They're pretty big, well made, and have a nice balance of chewiness and crunchiness. Their cookies are the perfect snack to eat while wandering through the Castro, where you'll see a lot of rainbow and at least one nudist.
Along with a great selection of well-priced sweets, Hot Cookie also has friendly service. Dang, now I want a cookie...
