Tocino Silog with sweet-cured pork shoulder, garlic rice, sunny egg, and mixed greens
After hearing such good things about FOB Kitchen, a Filipino pop-up-turned-restaurant on Telegraph and 52nd, the past few months, I finally stopped by for brunch this weekend.
I tried the Tocino Silog featuring sweet-cured pork shoulder, garlic rice, sunny egg, and mixed greens. It was quite good. The pork was perfectly prepared and all of the flavors complemented each other well. Cut off a piece of pork, add some egg and some rice, and you've got the perfect mouthful.
In addition to the delicious food, the restaurant has a fun atmosphere with tropical themed wallpaper and beautiful wooden tables. The staff are sweet and helpful to boot.
The next time I stop by, I might try the Adobo Fried Rice or the Longanisa Hash. If you've visited FOB Kitchen recently, what do you recommend trying?
