Eat in Honolulu: Maguro Spot

Left: Signature bowl made with tuna, salmon, blue marlin, white rice, spicy shoyu, spicy mayo, cucumber, edamame, and seaweed salad
Right: Special Rainbow bowl made with tuna, salmon, blue marlin, white rice, spicy mayo, teriyaki sauce, cucumber, edamame, and sea asparagus

I visited Maguro Spot, a casual poke restaurant on Kuhio and Uluniu in Waikiki, twice when I was in Hawaii in late September.

I tried two bowls that were pretty similar and very good: the Signature bowl and the Special Rainbow bowl. Both came with tuna, salmon, blue marlin, white rice, spicy mayo, cucumber, and edamame, while the former had spicy shoyu and seaweed salad and the latter had teriyaki sauce and sea asparagus. All of the ingredients were fresh and were complemented well by the sauces that brought everything together.

This is a great spot to grab a bowl of high-quality poke at pretty affordable prices. I would definitely stop by the next time I'm in Waikiki.
