Work It, West Hollywood: The Fur Scarf
MELROSE & ROBERTSON
Again with the unfocused photo, I know! You must excuse me because her fur scarf distracted me from checking the presets (my bad). Anyways, I like how this girl combined two elements that I have not seen worn together before - a fur scarf and a denim jumpsuit. I'd say the risk paid off. Would you agree?

Work It, Los Angeles: The Lace Bow
GILMORE & 3RD
As promised, this is the first of a few photos I've taken while in Los Angeles. (Please forgive me for it being out of focus.) I appreciate how this girl has revamped an ordinary black look with a huge lace bow and a pop of red.

CHANNING & TELEGRAPH
The recipe for success: a gingham dress with a dash of denim and a side of studs. Mmm, mmm, good.

Saddle Shoes
CALIFORNIA HALL
What can I say? I can't resist photographing a good pair of saddle shoes. Maybe I'm just being a bit nostalgic.

It's the Hair
CALVIN LABORATORY
Phew, this was a busy couple of weeks for me: I covered a runway show or two, a concert, a presentation, and created a six-part "Work It, BARE" series. Now, we're back to our regularly scheduled program. I must admit that a big part of choosing to photograph this guy was his cool hair do. Combined with his sharp glasses and red shoes, this is definitely a look all his own.

Secret Yeasayer Concert
Last week, I was invited to attend a secret concert featuring Yeasayer at LongShoreman's Hall in San Francisco last night. The show was put on by Microsoft to promote its new phone, the Kin. I ran into fellow Bay Area style bloggers, Jennie of Going West and Liz of Late Afternoon, and hung out with them most of the night. Here are a few photos I took at the show.
Left: Guests lined up around the building before the show started.
Right: The inside view of the entrance.
Left: An inside view of the venue.
Right: There were a few of these labels on the floor.
Left: I thought the ceiling was cool.

Guests take a break.
Two stylish guests. Notice the cut-out people on the right girl's dress. So cool!
A couple more stylish guests. I love the girl on the left's hat and the girl on the right's shirt.

Work It, BARE: John Kim
DWINELLE HALL
This is the sixth and final post of the "Work It, BARE" series, showcasing the styles of the students behind BARE Magazine. They have posed for you lovely readers in an effort to promote the Issue 7 Launch Party, which will be held tonight from 9pm to about midnight at Hotel Durant.
John Kim is the Editor-in-Chief of BARE. Along with Jordan Silver and Jonathan Deniol Rodriguez, he is one of the main forces behind the publication's success. Besides his role as the Anna Wintour of BARE, he has also written a few pieces for the blog, including a review of Elmwood Cafe, a popular piece on skirts for men, and a three day breakdown of his time at New York Fashion Week. You can read all of John's articles here.
When answering the question, "What Are You Wearing to the BARE Launch Party?" he could only give me a two-word clue, "faux leather." So far, the launch party is going to include sequins, a toga, something colorful, and now faux leather. This certainly sounds like an event only BARE could host.

Work It, BARE: Yael Levy
ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS BUILDING
This is the fifth post in the "Work It, BARE" series, showcasing the styles of the students behind BARE Magazine. They have posed for you lovely readers in an effort to promote the Issue 7 Launch Party, which will be held tonight at 9pm to about midnight at Hotel Durant.
Yael Levy has participated in many aspects of Issue 7: she was the illustrator for "Who Wears the Pants?" an article discussing androgyny; the author of "Visit: A Peek at Piedmont," an article highlighting must-visit cafes, clothing, and book stores on Oakland's Piedmont Avenue; and she was on the production staff for "Runaway Bride," a hybrid photo shoot and fiction piece. She has also written a few pieces for the blog, including an article about Horse Feathers and another about a found art exhibit.
When answering the question, "What Are You Wearing to the BARE Launch Party?" Yael said she would wear "something more colorful than this outfit." Although a bit vague, I'm very interested to see what she picks out.

Work It, BARE: Jordan Silver
WHEELER HALL
This is the fourth post in the "Work It, BARE" series, showcasing the styles of the students behind BARE Magazine. They have posed for you lovely readers in an effort to promote the Issue 7 Launch Party, which will be held tomorrow at 9pm to about midnight at Hotel Durant.
Besides being no stranger to this blog, Jordan Silver is one of the Creative Directors for BARE. Like Jonathan Deniol Rodriguez, he is one of the core people responsible for the magazine's success. He also frequently writes insightful pieces for the BARE blog, including a recap of BAREing It All, a review of Roberto Cavalli's Fall 2010 menswear line, and a review of "A Single Man." You can read all of his work here.
