In an effort to expand my photographic range and build some semblance of a portfolio, I recently began to dabble in food photography for my friend's brand-new blog, Delicious Double Takes. The goal of this blog is to sample critically-acclaimed dishes at popular restaurants in the Bay Area and reinvent them in our own way if we feel that they don't live up to the hype that they've received.
For my first assignment, my friend reinvented the Trailer Mac mac 'n cheese dish from Homeroom, a popular Oakland restaurant dedicated to serving the nostalgia-inducing pasta and cheese combination. Here are just a couple of photos I took of my friend's version of the dish. Click here to see more photos.
As mentioned yesterday on Facebook and Twitter, I was just approved to cover street style at the Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco for ELLE.com. Expect to see tons of photos of awesome street style from the festival!
Last week, Deanna of A California Dreamer told me about a contest Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty was putting on with Foam Magazine. I submitted some of my favorite street style photos I've taken in Berkeley, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and at the Sasquatch Music Festival in Washington, and what do you know... I won! Click on the image above or on this link to see the post on Foam's website announcing the win. A big thanks to Deanna for mentioning this to me!
