Chicken Shawarma Plate with rice, couscous, choice of tabouli, purple cabbage, Moroccan carrots, and cucumber salad, served with a pita
Earlier this month, I tried Soom Soom Fresh Mediterranean for the second time ever and the first time in person. As is my habit when I'm in Los Angeles, I try to eat as much Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food as I can since they've got so many great options. Soom Soom is no different: they've been serving Mediterranean cuisine since 2016 and now have 6 locations in the area. My mom and I visited their spot on 3rd and Robertson in Beverly Grove.
They have a variety of chicken, beef, and veggie options that can be served in a pita, wrap, or on a plate. Like last time, I had the Chicken Shawarma Plate with rice, couscous, a choice of four side salads — I picked the tabouli, purple cabbage, Moroccan carrots, and cucumber salad — and a pita. Everything is so fresh and flavorful that it's hard to imagine something so good could be found at a quick lunch spot.
I will definitely stop by the next time I'm in the area, probably opting for the hummus or baba ganoush as one of my sides. If you've visited Soom Soom recently, what do you recommend trying?
