I know what you're thinking: didn't I already post a photo of a guy in the same outfit? Yes, I did. This is his twin. Okay, not really. He swapped the jeans for a nice pair of gray slacks and made the ensemble more Berkeley-friendly will a comfortable pair of Converse All-Stars.

I like this ensemble for two reasons. (1) The denim jacket gives a reminiscent nod to the 90's, a decade always fun reliving. (2) The three tiers of cropped goodness, composed of the floral cardigan, denim jacket, and black dress, highlight how experimenting with proportions can go oh-so-right. Can I get a YES or yes?

What's amazing about this look -- besides that actual outfit itself -- is that everything she is wearing (except her scarf, which she got in China) is from thrift stores. This girl had a particular aura of cool that I was quite eager to capture. Starting from her hunter's hat and trickling down to her lace-up boots, this cool was very reminiscent of a girl I spotted a few weeks ago only blocks away.

What I really appreciate about this woman's outfit is her floppy tan hat. Though usually seen in summer weather, she has paired it with heather gray and black elements, creating a warmer look.
